Baby Shoes

My lovely husband surveyed my recent crafty endeavors and asked 'Don't you make anything for our kids?' So I grabbed the to do list and remembered some gorgeous baby shoes I wanted to make and started out on those. BTW - dear husband is completely wrong, most of the projects finished so far have been for Emma or bub, but he was looking at that gorgeous penguin for Kelly's bub when he made the statement, so I suppose he can be forgiven for getting carried away. It will be a sad day when he goes, but to a loving home I'm sure!

I think patterns and tutorials for these cute little shoes are everywhere, but I got mine from the 'Meet Me at Mikes' book by Pip Lincolne. You can find out more here. The book was a gift from a crafty friend, and I've been wanting to make something out of it for a while, so I could show her the fruits of her kind gift.

Now this was fiddly. Apart from it being little, I got lost a couple of times with the instructions and made a few mistakes. There are also things I would do differently next time. But they are very cute...

Said husband was then unimpressed with red and white polka dots - they were too 'girly'. So last night I was up way to late (well, for a 8 month pregnant woman anyway) and made a navy blue pair.

As the navy ones were my second attempt, I actually think they turned out a little nicer, but I'm happy with both. I can just imagine a little person filling these - just have to wait now till they arrive!
